Honda Jazz GK (2014-2017)

The Honda Jazz is a handsome, competitive alternative to the Ford Fiesta, although potential customers might balk at its close proximity in price to its booted and slightly better-equipped City sibling. Its cabin, however, is a standout in its class in terms of space and versatility, and it also uses less fuel than most of its rivals.

For
  • Outstanding space and versatility
  • Smooth drivetrain
  • Impressive safety equipment for the price
Against
  • Engine noisier than most under hard acceleration
  • Slightly less well-equipped than the City
  • Most of the toys are reserved for the top V model

1.5 S (2014)
Bought new, Owned for 8 Years
Fuel Economy: 14.0 km/litre (7.1 L/100 km), RON95, Mileage: 1,500 km/month
    - Easy to drive. The car's short wheelbase coupled with light throttle and steering makes it a perfect city runabout. The visibility is also very good thanks to the huge windows, A-pillar window and also low dashboard. Driving position is also good, neither too low nor too high. New drivers will be used to it very quickly.
    - Great interior space for its size. The legroom and headroom are great due to its boxy shape. Can fit 178cm person without brushing against the front seat or roof. Boot size is reasonably good, could fit 2-3 luggage after removing the tonneau cover
    - Engine is reasonably powerful. The car pick up speed quite good. CVT is reasonably smooth and responsive
    - Fuel consumption is quite okay. Average fuel consumption is 14 km/l for 100% city drive with a lot of traffic lights
    - Ultra seat and great storage space. The car never lacks storage spaces for your coins, handphone, wallet, water bottle and etc. The ultra seat is a plus point and it is useful for transporting bulky goods
    - The design looks evergreen. Even after 7 years of owning it, the car design still look fresh and is not outdated
    - Road and wind noise is intrusive especially at highway speeds
    - Less stable at highway speeds especially on less even road surface.
    - No ESC and power retractable side mirror for the lowest end variant. Only E spec and V spec get it.
    - Uncomfortable rear seats. The rear suspension is very stiff and the rear seat is a very thin bench type seat due to Ultra Seat
    - Bad assemble quality. There are a few loose fittings in the car and sometimes water will drip into the rear cabin during heavy rain
To improve
- Improve the sound insulation for more comfortable long distance drive - Give wider tires for better stability. - Hope to have more padding for rear seat and a softer suspension - The QC can be improved as current CKD Honda models also face quality issues. - Hope that New Jazz can be brought into Malaysian market, saw a few in Singapore and really like the premium and cute design For those looking for second hand Honda Jazz GK, go for E or V spec if possible for better safety features and interior. The car is practical and perfect for city driving.
Yes, I would recommend this car
