2.5 AT (2014)
Bought new, Owned for 2 Years
Fuel Economy: 1.4 km/litre (71.4 L/100 km), Diesel, Mileage: 800 km/month
-
2012 Mitsubishi Triton VGT 2.5
62000km on the clock
INTERIOR
- Well built & robust interior (No rattles & flimsy parts)
- Smart placement for controls
- iPod & USB connectivity
- Lots of space to store stuff (Glovebox, cup holders, side door pockets, etc)
- Spacious rear leg and head room
- Comfortable seats
- Air-cond is suitable for Malaysian climate
PERFORMANCE
- Excellent reliability (Never broke down once)
- Very easy to drive apart from parking
- Fuel efficiency is quite good
- Great handling for pick up trucks
- Punchy engine with powerful VGT turbo
- Car is stable at high speeds
- 5 speed gear box is fine
- Easy switch to 4WD
- Best in class turning radius is an incredible improvement over the Mitsubishi Storm
- Steering feel is quite alright
- Brakes are fine
OTHERS
- Spacious cargo bay
- Design is still looks alright even though it was first introduced in 2005
-
INTERIOR
- Interior may be robust but materials makes it feel cheap
- Fabric interior (already comes as standard in 3.2 or VGT GS)
- Audio quality is low and lack of bluetooth (already improved and standard in VGT GS)
PERFORMANCE
- Handling is great for pick up trucks but still experience major body roll like all pick-ups
- Engine is incredibly loud like a lorry
- Turbo may sometimes lagg but this isn't a problem for me
- Bumpy ride but livable
OVERALL
- Due to the long wheel base, this car is difficult to park with the lack of rear view camera (Get the VGT GS if you don't need the extra cargo space)
To Improve
- Revise interior materials in next gen and make it some sort like in the top spec 2014 Chevy Colorado. Limit the use of hard plastic
- turbo lagg issue must be dealt with but this isn't a problem for me

Yes, I would recommend this car

2.5 MT (2014)
Bought new, Owned for 5 Years
Fuel Economy: 14.0 km/litre (7.1 L/100 km), Diesel
-
(a) I bought the 2009's model and until now still in good condition with the full service records in Mitsubishi authorized service center (Jimisar Auttrade) in Kuching
(b) Fuel consumption consider good (14 km/litre) because I used it average more than 3,000 km per month which 70% highway @ country road and 30% in town / city area (Sarawak) and I can get almost 1,000 km with full tank (75 litre diesel)
(c) Powerful engine and comfortable for driver / front passenger
(d) Big space and powerful when you use the 4WD (you can choose between 2H, 4H & 4L)
(e) Good sound system (Kenwood 1 DIN with 4 speakers and 2 Tweeters)
-
(a) Bumpy ride or not comfortable for rear passengers (I believe most pick-up facing the some problem).
(b) Difficult to park in city area because of it size (4WD / pick-up)
(c) Spark parts is costly
(d) No auto headlamp, no auto cruise and no auto wipers
(e) No dual-zone auto air-con, rear air vents, keyless entry and start
To Improve
(a) More service center in East Malaysia because of the size of land
(b) Put auto headlamp, auto cruise / cruise control and auto wipers (rain senser)
(c) Include Bluetooth in audio system.
(d) Include dual-zone auto air-con, rear air vents, keyless entry and start
