The Perodua Axia is a decent car for the first-time buyer - certainly better than the Viva that came before it. But you do get what you pay for, it feels cheap to drive and sit in, especially compared to Proton alternatives. However, the improved safety is a huge step forward.

  • Engine has decent low-end punch
  • Class-leading safety features

  • Cheap-feeling interior
  • Steering is vague, heavy
  • Engine is loud, a lot of vibration
  • No ABS on base model

Fuel Economy: 20.0 km/litre (5.0 L/100 km), RON95, Mileage: 1,000 km/month
    - Small CC but not under power, very good acceleration.
    - Fuel efficient.
    - Car looks small outside, but cabin is spacious.
    - Easy to service and maintain.
    - Long lasting car.
    - Perodua service center staff are friendly.
    The car has electric power steering, but the steering is stiff, feel hard to turn.
