1.6 VTi 5-Door (2014)
Bought new, Owned for 1 Year
Fuel Economy: 13.5 km/litre (7.4 L/100 km), RON95, Mileage: 3,000 km/month
    1) Strong engine !
    2) awkward seating position (for first timer it may feel weird but after 5 mins everything seems to make sense.)
    3) Nice ride & handling
    4) Good sound system
    5) The LOOK ! people still turn their head when you pass by.
    6) Interior
    7) safety features (main reason why choose this car)
    8) Michelin Energy Saver - it's a bloody good tires but not available in Malaysia
    1) Stupid 4 speed gearbox and it has whining sound on 3rd gear when the car is cold. (Basically this gearbox don't know it's a gearbox, gear change is not smooth)
    2) Extremely loud radiator fan (your parents will know u are back home before u even reach your house, your neighbor will curse u when u back home during midnight)
    3) Front right driver air-cond vent broke after a month
    4) RPM drop on 2nd or 3rd gear for no reason (it jz like the gearbox is a 5 speeder)
    5) fuel tank is 50 liters but somehow i not able to full the tank, petrol pump jump 5 times and meter only shows 3/4 full.
    6) numb steering.
    7) rear seat a bit cramp
    8) EPS got some minor problem and they need to import the parts from France which took dono how many months. (still waiting)
    9) NVH not as good as rival such as POLO
    10) due to low steering layout, everytime i get out the car my leg will hit the steering.
To Improve
1) 6 speeder to fully utilize the strong torque from the engine and will also improve FC.
2) better EPS bcs current one no feel at all.
3) Add the panoramic roof on the 5 door too.
4) improve the noise make by the radiator it really that loud.
Yes, I would recommend this car

1.6 VTi 5-Door (2014)
Bought new, Owned for 2 Years
Fuel Economy: 12.0 km/litre (8.3 L/100 km), RON95, Mileage: 1,000 km/month
The engine in this thing is really good, for a 1.6 it is perfect for the size, packs a good punch too! It is quite smooth and nice to drive this little car with this engine.

Being French, it looks really nice in person. The stubby nose in front looks kinda cute, with the nice LED lights in front. The rear LED brake lights with the triple claw at the back, a Peugeot signature, is gorgeous at night. The rims are also pretty good looking though the Oxygen 17" ones look nicer than the Helium 16" ones on the 5 door. It's nice that the interior is just as exciting as the outside.

Inside it looks more expensive than it is, with lost of soft touch surfaces, and good build quality. The touchscreen is not bad though it takes some time getting used to. Love the look of the speedometer with the lights around it and the display in between the dials. Looks really upmarket. The seats are nice and comfy, with good body holding capabilities though larger people may find it a bit restricting. Boot is average for the size of the car, and the rear seats are decent.

The drive feels 100% Peugeot. It is smooth when you drive like a good person but can be a sporting little fella when you push it about. Body control is good about the twists and what is nice is that the ride is smooth and nice, in fact it did not crash over the horrendous potholed roads I use (the holes resemble those on the moon probably). I once forgot to slow down before going through that part, only to realise just as I got to that patch, but never felt like the car crashed over the holes.

The steering is light for parking but is quite nice when you speed up. Visibility is not too bad actually considering how curvy the car is. It's not too noisy too. For the price, you can have it all, almost will all the good safety.

If at all you buy it, get it in red or the dark blue. Not a big fan of the light pink.
Glovebox is comical. Being French, it has a nearly useless glovebox cause of the fuse box which the French forgot to bring to the right side of the car when they converted it to a RHD car.

Automatic transmission is again Peugeot's punishment to us for not loving the manual. It is slow and is like undecided. In fact it feels like it goes into first gear then as you rev it up the computer goes to the French Rivera and decides to change the gear to second, and comes back to the car after a while before changing it. Basically it is in Peugeot developed fashion, slow as snail. (Note since this is not the 1.6 THP Turbo 156 it doesn't come with the nicer 6 speed auto by Toyota-Aisin, instead it gets the dumber Peugeot AT4). Also, the lack of a 5th or 6th gear reduces economy at higher speeds, though it is not too bad.

Peugeot could have given us a Keyless Entry and Start which would have been nice too.

The steering is a bit too small for me. Being used to the normal sized steering, the smaller one did take some getting used to. And it did block the view of the speedo as you can't see through the hole in the steering or over it.
To Improve
Give us the 6 speed auto! We'd welcome the 1.6 THP with open arms!

Also, please can we have a slightly bigger steering?

And Nasim service needs a speedup. Parts can take a long time to come.

RON95, Mileage: 1,000 km/month
    1) Easy to drive, stable and feel planted.
    2) Nice front LED daylights and overall exterior is an eye catcher.
    3) Fuel economy goes down to 5.5L/100km on highway and 10.5L/100km in traffic jams.
    4) Nice central touchscreen display, plays media from pen drive (no hassle of feeding CDs) and 3D speakers is a joy for music lovers.
    5) Auto dual climate control, auto wipers and auto headlights take away the need to flip switches, more attention on the road.
    6) Good acceleration, agile and points well where you want it to go.
    1) Initially the automatic gearbox is quite hesitant but after the 1500km mark, the gear started to learn my driving style and adjusted well. Now, it is smooth although occasionally it automatically goes down a gear for unknown reason.
    2) Inner cabin noise is pretty well suppressed unless on a speeding racer's hands, which most of us aren't.
    3) Morning start-up yields a rather rowdy engine, which quiets upon sufficient warm-up.
    4) Backseats are pretty tight but hey, it's a mini compact. Front glove box and cup holders are too small.
    5) Suspension is rather hard and on bumpy/pot holes in Malaysia, sometimes it is uncomfortable.
To Improve
1) Better after sales service, could not get an appointment for maintenance through phone booking. Lucky, I had a good salesman who helped me out.

    - The performance of the 1.6L Prince Engine is great with good torque and power. Ferrying 4 adults and heavy loads will not be an issue

    - Loud horn for a small car
    - There is a 'Snowflake' button which increases the car's traction on the road especially for slippery surface
    - Good boot space for its class
    - Overall cabin space is good for adults
    - Futuristic and neat interior with 7" touch screen and floating instruments panel
    - 5 Star EURO NCAP Safety
    - It's noisy but in a good way to alert you about the status of your car (eg, front driver and passenger seatbelts, remove ignition key, placement of gear to P when doors are open, Parking break did not fully disengage while accelerating in D, etc)

    - Responsive engine and breaks

    Verdict:
It's pretty, fun, practical and safe car to drive
    - Jerky gear change at low speed (only from 1st to 2nd)
    - Only 4 speed gear
    - The hard plastics at the front doors speaker area has some vibrating noise when playing music with bass of certain frequency
    - No GPS
    - Centre armrest when place it down is blocking the accessibility to the parking break
    - Need more and bigger cup holders
    - The fuel consumption leaves something to be desired especially in the jam but it's much better while cruising
    - Small glove box (half taken by the fuse box)
To Improve
- Peugeot Malaysia should bring in the original body kit and accessories for this car as currently there is no Peugeot Original body kit and accessories available and owners have to resort to 3rd party options
- Service centres should operate on weekends which handles both service and warranty as at the moment warranty claims can only be done on the weekdays
- Set up more service centres as now Peugeot brand is growing with more Peugeot cars on the road, it would be a wise move to have more authorised service centres to cater for the increased Peugeot population
- Peugeot Malaysia should bring the more efficient new gen 3 cylinder turbo aka "Pure Tech" engine
- Allow walk-in for repair (with quota is fine) because it would be a hassle for customers to make an appointment and wait just to get their car repaired even for a minor problem
- Explain to customers in details about the warranty provided during sales consultation or when collecting their cars

Very comfortable to drive especially on long distance highway runs. Very good high speed stability for a car this size. So many tech for this class. Engine is not down on power. Very easy to drive around town, good size and visibility. Spacious. Very good looking little car.
The Gearbox is very bad for this particular engine, it feels like it need one more gear, it should have been a 5 speeder, and also it feels very confused between up and downshifts. Engine noise is quite badly heard in the cabin, probably because it revs at 3k rpm at speeds of 100km/h thanks to the bad gearbox. Sometimes the car sounds a little like a diesel during warm up. Fuel consumption is not good for a 1.6 tiny hatchback.
To Improve
After sales service. It is really bad, the working class that buys this models are mostly free only at weekends, and peugeot is ingeniously opening their service centres for half day only on Saturday and Sunday is a off day for them! And the warranty is void if we bring it in after 500km overdue. The people at the service centre themselves do not know what is wrong with the car when we bring it in with a certain complaint.
