Ultra Twin Performance (2025)
Bought new, Owned for 1 Year
Fuel Economy: 18.0 km/litre (5.6 L/100 km), Electric, Mileage: 2,000 km/month
- The EX30 has an excellent design, slick styling, and a fun driving character.
- As an EV, it delivers on performance and efficiency the concept is exactly what I wanted in a modern compact electric vehicle.
- Great seats & comfort.
- In under four months of ownership the vehicle has already spent over 35 days in the workshop due to recurring faults "Electrical Fault, Do not Drive - contact dealer" that have led to my wife and children to be stranded. Unacceptable for a new car.
- Despite the long downtime, no courtesy car was provided by Volvo Malaysia, leaving me without transport for extended periods and resorting to rentals.
- After-sales support from Volvo Malaysia has been poor, inconsistent updates and little sense of ownership or urgency as is evident from other google reviews on Volvo Car Malaysia.
- Some road noise can be heard from the A pillars above 100km/h
- Questionable interior plastics that can scratch easily
- Software bugs.
To Improve
Volvo Malaysia needs to significantly improve its reliability, service turnaround and customer care for their car owners. Provision of a courtesy vehicle during lengthy workshop stays should be standard (as depicted on their webpage). Clearer communication, faster resolution of faults and better accountability are essential to back up the premium badge and pricing. Until the brand improves its service and support in Malaysia, I cannot recommend this car or brand.
No, I would not recommend this car
