Bought new, Owned for 1 Year
Fuel Economy: 8.5 km/litre (11.8 L/100 km), Diesel, Mileage: 1,000 km/month
    - Very comfortable ride and handles decently considering it's a truck.
    - Interior is also very sedan like. Feels like a car.
    - Electronics and handsfree system works well with my iPhone.
    - Truck flat bed is generously sized.
    - My XLT did not come with stability control.
    - Rear seat is missing one seat belt buckle.
    - Turbo lag can be quite bad especially when you need to accelerate quickly into oncoming traffic.
To Improve
- Stability control as standard should be standard at this trim level.

Its very easy to forget one is actually driving a pick-up truck because of the sedan-like cabin.
Interior space, especially the rear passenger legroom has been increased a great amount to give taller passengers (think someone who is around 5'10" or 5'11") more room to stretch their legs.
The seemingly quieter diesel engine makes it more pleasant to the ears as well.
Quite a powerful beast despite JUST a 2.2. Overtaking on highways are definitely made easier.
A near superb sound system quality. The sounds are crisp and the bass is very solid.
Bluetooth connectivity to phone is another convenience. Calls can be answered and made by just pressing on the voice command button.
Auto headlamps is an added bonus JUST incase once forgets to switch off once parked.
Lots of storage compartments and cubby holes.
Gear change is a bit sluggish when the engine has not been properly heated up long enough.
Driver seat height adjuster doesnt seem to hold the desired height for long and it slowly drops back to original height after a while (either that or Im a lill too heavy haha)
Main power window switches on the driver's side is pushed a bit too far back which locates it at an awkward angle to press the switches comfortably. Should move it forward at least by 4 - 5 inches more.
Wind noise could be quite intruding once speed hits 120km/h.
    Not-so responsive throttle paddle.
Side steps too narrow. Slipped a few times and bruises/sprained my ankle a few times.
To Improve
Should make push-start buttons and keyless functions a standard feature.
How to lessen wind noise at higher speeds.
Driver's seat height adjuster problem.
More responsive throttle.

The Ranger gives you the average sedan-like comfort, without compromising its off-roadability in any way. It is so comfortable that, while driving on the normal road, it is easy to forget that you are actually driving a pick-up truck. Plus, at a normal cruising speed, the sound of the diesel engine is barely noticeable from inside the cabin. It is in fact the most suitable vehicle to be driven on the roads of Klang Valley, with all the manholes, potholes, roadkills, over-sized speed bumps, uneven tarmac surfaces and the frequent flash floods.
The high ground clearance of 800 mm (meant for water-wading during off-road driving) means that the Ranger has become quite tall to be driven in a low-headroom clearance environment (like in the basement of an old building). Also, the proximity sensors on the rear chrome bumper are designed and installed in such a way that they stick out (protruded) from the bumper unprotected, which means that any impact from behind will damage the sensors first before the chrome bumper. The ride, when the Ranger is not loaded, may feel a bit stiff for some due to the suspension arrangement (as the Ranger is meant to carry heavy load).
To Improve
The rear proximity sensors should be flushed (or recessed further) into the chrome bumper so that they are protected from the primary impact from behind. Ford Malaysia (i.e. SDAC) should also offer standard accessories for 4x4, like the bull bars and the canopy/cover, which are reasonably priced, with warranty. Also, the waiting list for some of the Ranger variants (especially the 2.2 XLT Auto) is quite long (6 months average), which means potential customers may opt for other alternatives due to such a long waiting period.

I like the shape and overall ride. Noise and vibration better my two other entry model car even up to certain extend noise level better than popular D-segment brand car, 2011 model which I owned. Consumption accepted though I cannot get the official figure as stated on brochure. I am not the speed race driver but happy with the overall power of the truck. Space is good both for front and rear occupants.
Low RPM power is an issue which the car tend to be on the low power before turbo kick-off above 2000 rpm - I solve it bu put in tuning chip to modify the ECU program. There are some irritating rattling on dashboard and door panel. Rear occupants still complaint on bouncing. Radio section seem problematic as it behave like sine wave hi-low volume on driving - maybe on the reception side. I also notice some difficulty view block by rear wing mirror on driver side - the size OK but mah be the shape.
To Improve
The overall trucks OK but it will be better is the ICE incorporate among others GPS, rear view camera - but the reception issues is critical. I'm sure the ride comfort is the thing that will make it more receptive as most of the trucks seem to be for road use with some light off road.

Interior finishing may be the area of concern especially centre console position can be leverage as centre armrest which currently a bit off position. I hate the position of power window switches which a bit hard to access. I', average Malaysian but prefer to to have it few inch forward.

On rear seat, will it too much to ask for revision. It is high time to have it to be reclined to improve comfort. How about leather seat, at least offer as optional!

On the outside the head light look a bit dated technology - projector or HID complete with DRL will put the truck on advantage. At least give some smoke, on the rear too.
.
On the sale front - the salesperson should be equipped with sufficient product knowledge.

Fuel Economy: 8.9 km/litre (11.2 L/100 km), Diesel, Mileage: 1,500 km/month
Height is best in class. Comfort is comparable to road cars.
Rear tow hook is not near the bumper but further inside near the spare wheel. Not as easy to get to if you're stuck in the mud already!
To Improve
Onboard ICE could be better, with either GPS or reverse camera (this is a big car). But then its the same with all Fords in Malaysia. Have not had to service it yet so can't comment on the service centre performance.
