Bought new, Owned for 9 Years
Fuel Economy: 13.0 km/litre (7.7 L/100 km), RON95, Mileage: 1,000 km/month
- Nice design inside and outside. Still looks modern even after 8 years. Interior is durable.
- Very practical for loading stuff, I used it to move house and even transported king mattress from Ikea.
- Superb rear legroom for a car this size. Puts bigger cars like Civic and Altis to shame.
- Very good Alpine sound system on base model, which I tested was better than the ones in more expensive E and V spec.
- Comfortable for long distance drive, handles great, easy to park and maneuver.
- Very reliable and low maintenance. Total only about RM5k thru 8 years of ownership. Much less than my previous proton.
- Smooth Engine and gearbox, more than adequate for day to day driving and trips to genting.
- Good fuel consumption 15km/l but dropped to average 12-13km/l after upgrading to wider tyres
- Terrible center console piano black surface is nice to see but very easy to scratch and attracts dust and a fingerprint magnet
- Rear seat lack thigh support
- No VSC or hill assist on base spec.
- Skinny 175/65/15 tyres are very bad for traction/handling but good after I upgraded to 195/55/15
- Lack of charging ports
- Tyre noise on highway speeds
To improve
- Better soundproofing
- Get rid of that horrible piano black surface on center console.
- CVT can be further improved.
- Bigger fuel tank as 40L is too small for outstation travel. 45L is acceptable
- Brighter headlights.
- Bigger aircond compressor as current ones a bit weak during hot days.(No match for proton)
- To add more safety systems like VSC and Brake assist even on base spec.
Yes, I would recommend this car
