2.5 SE MT (2014)
Bought new, Owned for 1 Year
Fuel Economy: 9.0 km/litre (11.1 L/100 km), Diesel, Mileage: 1,000 km/month
    - Most powerful engine in its class (amongst other 2.5 and 2.2 rivals).
    - Minimal engine noise and vibration at highway speeds.
    - The in-dash SatNav & Reverse Camera comes as standard.
    - Roomy cabin (especially in the rear).
    - Lovely facelifted front grille and unique two-tone alloy wheels.
    - Less theft / hijack cases as compared to the Hilux.
    - Can travel up to 600km with a full tank (there was still some 10 litres in the system during each fill up).
    - While it accelerates well if pushed above 3,000rpm, black smoke pours out of the back like an octopus.
    - Clutch is quite light, but the travel distance is a little too far.
    - Handbrake does not hold the car on a slope unless pulled up to the max (even without any cargo).
    - Shift-on-the-fly does not switch back to 2WD when stationary (more explanation required in the Owner's Manual).
    - Limited visibility from the rear-view mirror due to the huge headrests at the rear seats.
    - Sometimes impossible to read anything on the head unit due to the reflection and glare from the sun.
    - The factory in-dash SatNav does not allow you to search by address.
    - Bluetooth connection is unstable (could be due to my phone).
    - The sound system isn't exactly the best around.
    - Rear seat back is a little too steep and lacks under seat storage.
To Improve
- Absence of a Diesel Particulate Filter.
- Driver's seatbelt indicator / reminder on the instrument cluster.
- More soft-touch plastics in the cabin (particularly the arm rests).
- More user-friendly SatNav system (current system was developed by Tan Chong).
- Offer ESP / ESC across the range (crucial for tall vehicles).
- Steering-mounted audio controls.
Yes, I would recommend this car
