2.0G High+ 2WD (2023)
Bought new, Owned for 1 Year
Fuel Economy: 17.0 km/litre (5.9 L/100 km), RON95, Mileage: 400 km/month
Compact & stylish, comfortable to drive. Good performance, smooth driving.
Too cramped at the back seat. Virtually no leg room Very, very poor, horrible quality paint especially soul red crystal. Not even 10 days out of the showroom, I had a paint chip, right on the bonnet. Brought it to the Mazda service centre, the foreman was honest told me the original colour cannot be restored perfectly, they touched up but ended up like a dark spot on the car. The car has coating by the way but zero protection for the paint. Don't buy it. We are buying cars to drive on the road not to keep it in the showroom. Driving for over 20 years now, never had a paint chip unless I scratched it or, grazing etc. Kancil & axia has better paint quality.
To Improve
Please do not rip off customers by selling them poor quality cars & your own service centre could not restore a small paint chip.
No, I would not recommend this car

2.0 G High SkyActiv-G 2WD (2020)
Bought new, Owned for 1 Year
Fuel Economy: 10.0 km/litre (10.0 L/100 km), RON95, Mileage: 1,500 km/month
Owning CKD version of CX30 High+ variant with sunroof
    - Good Ride and Handling, can hold on the road in every corner and drive with confidence, steering is sharp and precise and the car body reacts immediately, feels like driving a hatchback but still stable on highway speed.
    - Great ergonomics, buttons are well places and easy to reach, all the screens are at the right places, and the front seat armrest are just nice. I like the fact that they still keep most of the dials and buttons.
    - Aircond is powerful, cool down fairly quickly and it is freezing cold like old Proton wira aircond.
    - Rarely have to use paddle shifter because the gearbox is very responsive, just kickdown with minute changes in throttle input, or when it detect upgill/downhill slopes
    - Power delivery is alright with 2.0 Engine, more than enough for city and highway drives.
    - Good exterior design, has that entry premium car feel, long hood and sleek C-Pillar just feels premium.
    - And the premium feeling further extends to the interior - leather wrapped dashboard, tactile button feelings, high quality leathers. Cover the batch some might even guess that it is X1 or GLA level kind of car.
    - Good stock sound system, even though it is not the Bose speakers.
    - ACC with Stop and Go works well, don't expect Subaru eyesight kind of smoothness but it accelerates smoother, and brake with minimal jerk, passenger can't really tell that I am using ACC in traffic jam.
    - Wide range of seat adjustment, passenger side even come with manual height adjustment
    - Loaded with good specs like 360 camera, electric rear hatch.
    - 5 years free service!
    - The brake is very stiff and requires early planning, requires forces to stomp on the brake pedals. AEB activated few times because I did not brake hard enough.
    - MZD screen is not touch based, it is difficult to navigate with rotary dial especially when using apple carplay/android auto, as these are designed for touch screen UI.
    - The front seats are too bolstered, wide shouldered passenger might not find the front seats comfortable.
    - Rear seat space is not a strong point for CX30, space is acceptable but main issue is the seat back engle being a bit upright, not comfortable for long journey.
    - Engine sounds coarse when pushed (not too high, around 2.5K RPM above)
    - Bumpy rides, large undulations are ok but you can feel all small bumps and undulations, which is a bit too much for me, always have the sensation that the bumps inside my condo parking going to break my suspension soon.
    - Blind spot (both forward and rearward looking) is quite large, mainly due to the sleek exterior design.
    - GVC is overated, I can't tell the difference in term of comfort, not sure if my CX30 doesn't come with GVC or I did not turn on.
    - Maybe a bit of nickpicking, but the gear ratio between 1st and 2nd gear is large, a bit of disjointment when driving in traffic condition.
To Improve
- Brake needs to be more responsive, and easier to press.
- Comfort, as in the road condition in Klang valley isn't great at the first place.
- Allow touchscreen control for middle screen because it is troublesome to use rotary dial with Carplay.
- I don't mind sacrificing a bit of boot space, more more reclined rear seats.
Yes, I would recommend this car

1.8D High SkyActiv-D 2WD (2020)
Bought new, Owned for 1 Year
Fuel Economy: 13.0 km/litre (7.7 L/100 km), Diesel, Mileage: 1,000 km/month
The quality speaks for everything that you paid for. NVH is good, the tactile feel of all the buttons feels fluid, the front seats is well ergonomiced where you would not feel tired even on long journeys. Well equipped for the price
The lag is a bit noticeable, 360 degree camera was only available on the Ignite spec for the CBU variant, along with level 2 autonomous feature (available on the CKD top variant) the Aircon could be colder as well
To Improve
Nothing to add as the CKD top variant added all the needed features.
Yes, I would recommend this car
