Volkswagen Vento Mk5 facelift (2016) - No Longer On Sale

The Volkswagen Vento is a Volkswagen Polo Sedan which was renamed upon receiving its mid-cycle facelift. The refreshed B-segment sedan comes with revised looks and kit.

Exterior changes include a larger grille with three chrome slats, a redesigned front bumper and bonnet, rectangular fog lights, new tail light graphics, a reprofiled rear bumper and chrome bars on the rear bumper and bootlid. These revisions give the Vento a markedly different look compared to the Polo hatch.

The range has now been fragmented into three models, starting with the Trendline model, the Comfortline and the Highline. The Trendline and Comfortline's 1.6 litre MPI naturally-aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine produces 105 PS at 5,250 rpm and 153 Nm of torque at 3,800 rpm. As before, it’s mated to an Aisin-sourced six-speed automatic transmission.

The Highline uses a 1.2 litre TSI turbocharged engine, making 105 PS at just 5,000 rpm and 175 Nm of torque made between 1,550 and 4,100 rpm. It’s mated to a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission.

Safety-wise, all models get ABS, brake assist, ISOFIX child seat anchors and an Intelligent Crash Response System (ICRS). The Trendline loses side airbags, dropping the airbag count to just two. Comfortline and Highline retain four airbags, but only the range-topping model gets stability control and hill-hold assist. The company says that with this, the Highline is eligible for a five-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating.

As with all Volkswagen cars in Malaysia, the Vento comes with a five-year, unlimited-mileage warranty and a five-year mobility guarantee.
